Parking Rip-Offs

So I had to drop off a form at the doctor's office, and had to take a ticket to enter the parking lot.  When I came out, I put the ticket in the pay machine and it came up that I had to pay $3.75 for 6 minutes of parking.

As I ground my teeth, I walked over to the office and complained. She said "Oh, we have a 1/2 hour grace period. If you had just put your ticket in the machine upon leaving the lot, you wouldn't have had to pay."

Of course I couldn't get my money back, and there is nothing on the ticket that says anything about a grace period, nor is it on the machine that takes your money.

WTF.

Easter Eggs Dubbed 'Spring Spheres' by Seattle School

SOUTHFIELD, MICH: Are Easter eggs politically correct? One elementary school doesn't think so. The Seattle school chose the word "spring" over "Easter", opting to call Easter eggs "spring spheres". The school isn't the only governmental entity in Seattle choosing the word "spring" over "Easter". Its parks department has stripped the word "Easter" from egg hunt advertising.

Premium Cable-TV Packages for Prisoners

It was announced today that premium cable-tv packages were being cancelled for prisoners in Ontario jails.

What?

"You had no hesitation in paying for enhanced cable packages for prisoners, for paying for Freeing the Human Spirit yoga classes for prisoners or for paying for cathartic creative writing classes for prisoners," he said. "It shows how deeply out of touch you've become that you put the criminals ahead of victims of crime," said Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak,

"I've got a problem with criminals getting enhanced cable packages that many families can't afford, with Zen yoga classes while moms that have had their kids murdered can't get access to the compensation fund simply because they didn't see the violent crime," said Hudak. "I mean, are you kidding me? How warped have the priorities become that these are what the government chooses, to support prisoners while moms go without any kind of help?"

After all my years of working, paying taxes, and obeying the law, I can't afford premium cable-tv packages.  Maybe this money should go towards law-abiding citizens receiving premium cable-tv packages.

Was just taking a look at the current news:

- Major League Baseball has approved the use of steroids for all players
- Body checking to be phased out by 2013 in the NHL
- Harper converting Canada back to imperial system (after all the money spent and learning metric)

What is WRONG with these people!!!!!!  I simply can't handle the stupidity. 

There Oughta be a Law

So we are having yet another election, the 4th in 7 years.

Now what makes the powers-that-be think we are interested?  The last thing I want to do right now is go to the polls and vote for the same idiots as last time.  There should be a law against holding so many elections in so few years unless there is a new leader of a party.  Do the taxpayers know this is costing us $19,751,412.67 every time an election is called?  I can think of a thousand better uses for that money.

I don't care which party gets in -- it doesn't even matter.  JUST GIVE US A MAJORITY GOVERNMENT so things can get done!

Batteries--The Bane of My Existence

If they can send a man to the moon, why can't they make a decent battery that lasts more than an hour?  Just asking...

Manhole Covers

Why don't they make the manholes in the centre of the driving lane so that one's tires don't bounce over them every 20 feet or so?  It doesn't make any sense.

Parents must witness their children's murder to receive compensation

The provincial agency that is supposed to compensate crime victims has denied “pain and suffering” payments to three grieving mothers because they did not witness the killing of their children.

This is just ridiculous to me and an insult to these grieving families.
